I have about 6 of these doing various things.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/homeautomation\/comments\/5y4i7i\/so_i_made_a_bed_occupancy_sensor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">Bed Occupancy Sensor<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; FSR sensor for pressure and a simple automation to determine bed occupancy<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.letscontrolit.com\/forum\/viewtopic.php?t=2147\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WiFi Candle<\/a>\u00a0Using multiple WS2812 addressable LEDs to create a simple lamp that flickers like a candle.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.instructables.com\/id\/WIFI-Notification-Flag\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Notification Flag<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Raise a flag based on a simple condition. Would be nice to combine in tandem with&#8230;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.whatimade.today\/esp-8266-mailbox-notifier-using-deepsleep-and-blynk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mailbox Sensor<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Notify when mailbox is opened.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/sidoh\/esp8266_milight_hub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DIY Milight Hub<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; I&#8217;ve been using this and it works great. Control as many cheap Chinese RGB bulbs as you want.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/benlo.com\/esp8266\/esp8266WaterAlarm.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Simple Water Alarm<\/a> &#8211; If water shorts the wires, it wakes a sleeping esp8266 and sounds the alarm<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/randomnerdtutorials.com\/door-status-monitor-using-the-esp8266\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Door\/Window Monitor<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Along the same lines, a simple magnetic switch monitors the status of a window or door.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thingiverse.com\/thing:1211810\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Smart Power Strip<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Retrofitting a power strip with 2 banks of controllable outlets, using 3D printed parts.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thingiverse.com\/thing:1944905\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Weather Station Display<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Another super cool 3D printed project that plugs in and displays info on a small screen.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>My favorite form factor of the esp8266 is the Wemos D1 Mini.
